"Why don't blind people sky dive? It scares the crap out of their guide dogs!" says Brian Fischler, a blind comedian. Hey, it beats his old job of selling pencils in Times Square. Brian can be seen performing regularly at comedy clubs all over New York City. Only problem is, he will not see you. Brian is also the Founder and Producer of Laugh for Sight, a benefit that raises money for retinal eye disease research and funding for guide dog programs. Thanks to the great success of Laugh For Sight in New York City over the past five years, Laugh For Sight is now expanding to Los Angeles and Miami in 2010, with plans underway for expansion to Chicago, Las Vegas, and a sixth loaction in 2011. Past performers at Laugh For Sight include Robert Klein, Lewis Black, Colin Quinn, and several other top comic's. Brian has also had the distinguished honor of opening for Kevin James and Ray Romano. Brian's list of credits include Caroline's on Broadway, Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, Improv NY, Comic Strip Live, Hollywood Improv, Miyagi's on Sunset, The Comedy Store, Hermosa Beach Comedy and Magic Club, The Friar's Club of Beverly Hills, NYCC Boca, Palm Beach Improv, and several other clubs.
In 2010, Brian starred in VisionZone - You're Not Alone Anymore, a short film produced by Optelec to help raise global ocular awareness. The film can be seen at www.visionzone.org, along with a bi-weekly blog by Brian.
